Chancellor Blank completes visits to four-year campuses
University of Wisconsin–Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank today visited the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, completing her goal to visit each of the UW System’s 13 four-year campuses in her first year leading the state’s flagship university.

“As soon as I arrived in Madison last July, one of my priorities was to build relationships and strengthen UW–Madison ties with citizens, businesses, other campuses, and state leaders across Wisconsin,” Blank says. “What I found was that each of these campuses provide excellent academic opportunities to their students. Each of the cities I visited benefit culturally and economically from having a UW campus in their community, and the chancellors I have met with are very skilled leaders who care deeply about higher education.”
In addition to UW–Madison, the UW System’s four-year campuses are in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Oshkosh, Stevens Point, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Platteville, River Falls, Menomonie (Stout), Kenosha (Parkside), Superior and Whitewater.
In addition to meeting with UW leaders and touring campuses, Blank also used the outreach trips to meet with area legislators, hold roundtables with local business leaders, and speak to editorial boards and alumni.
“Each place I visited it was very clear that the people of Wisconsin recognize the rare gem they have in the UW System, and how much they value having a world-class university as a resource in their state,” Blank says.
The chancellor plans to continue her outreach mission with a series of visits to other communities across the state in the coming year.
