Editor's note: This event has been postponed until April 9.

In an effort to connect UW students of color with campus employers, the Recruitment Initiative for Student Employees (RISE) and the Office of Human Resources are hosting the 2nd Annual Leadership Summit & Campus Job Fair Tuesday, March 5, from 5-8 p.m. in the Memorial Union Great Hall.

Students will have the opportunity to network with UW employers that are hiring for a range of positions, including student jobs, full-time employment, and summer and fall internships. The event also will give students the chance to participate in a professional developmental workshop.

Staff from the Career Center will be on hand to provide feedback on resumes and cover letters. Everyone from freshmen to graduate students is invited to attend. RISE suggests students bring several copies of their resumes and wear business casual attire. The workshop will begin at 5:15 pm. The job fair will start at 5:45 pm, as will the onsite resume/cover letter critiques.

The RISE program develops and enhances the university’s initiative to address campus diversity recruitment. Through employment opportunities and development assistance, RISE aims to create a rewarding academic experience and build institutional connections for students of color, low-income students, and first-generation college graduates.

Registration for this event is highly encouraged, but not mandatory. To register, click here. For more information on the summit and job fair, contact Tangela Blakely Reavis or Natalie Mena, or visit the RISE website.
