October 29, 2012 By John Lucas

UW-Madison students who may be impacted by Hurricane Sandy are encouraged to call the Dean of Students office for assistance with any academic and student life issues that may arise.

“As the storm prepares to make landfall, we’re concerned for all of our East Coast students here in Wisconsin as well as their families and friends back home,” says Dean of Students Lori Berquam.

“Our thoughts are with you and we want to do everything we can to make your life a little easier during this stressful time.”

If you are a UW–Madison student in of need assistance or support, contact the Division of Student Life at (608) 263-5700 and ask for the Dean On Call, or email dean@studentlife.wisc.edu.

Berquam is contacting all students from the Eastern Seaboard who might be impacted to tell them to be sure to keep in touch with their families and develop alternative methods of contact in case communication lines go down.

If you are a student in need of counseling or crisis support as a result of this incident or any other situation, call University Health Services Counseling and Consultation Services at (608) 265-5600 or drop-in between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
