First Lady Tonette Walker to lead Arboretum walk

October 15, 2012

Tonette Walker, Wisconsin’s first lady, will hike around the University of Wisconsin Arboretum Tuesday as part of her Walk with Walker series of events.

Walker has visited areas such as Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, High Cliff State Park and Three Eagle Trail in Eagle River to introduce people to hiking trails and scenic landscapes around the state while promoting the health benefits of walking.

The public is invited to join Walker and an Arboretum naturalist on a two-mile walk beginning at the UW Arboretum’s visitor center, 1207 Seminole Highway, at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The walk will take place regardless of rain, and will be postponed only if the weather becomes severe.
