This latest version of Mobile UW offers two important new features:

– Users can add bus stops to a favorites list and get easier online access to arrival and departure times for their most frequent stops. This was the feature most requested by Mobile UW users.

– Optimized graphics for the new iPad. Mobile UW now takes advantage of the much-greater screen resolution on the new iPads, providing a better display for users.

Mobile UW offers nine useful functions that allow users to search for people and events, see campus maps, get bus information, see UW videos, access safety information, follow Badger sports, and more. A growing catalog of custom apps is making Mobile UW even more useful; see mobile.wisc.edu/apps-catalog/.

Since its launch in December 2010, Mobile UW has been downloaded almost 40,000 times in 119 countries and more than 350 Wisconsin cities and towns.

Mobile UW is also available on web browsers at m.wisc.edu. For details and download information, see mobile.wisc.edu.

The Mobile UW initiative is a joint project of the Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Vice Chancellor for University Relations. Team members come from the CIO Office, Division of Information Technology, Office of the Registrar, University Communications, and UW Libraries.
