May 15, 2012 By

The academic year is quickly coming to a close, and that means another round of road closures and construction projects in the campus area this summer.

Observatory Drive will be closed to eastbound traffic after 6 p.m. tonight (May 15), tomorrow night and Thursday night between Park Street and Lot 10 for utility work. Eastbound access to lots 10 and 11 will be maintained.

Observatory will be one-way westbound between Park Street and Lot 10 after 6 p.m. through Thursday. The road will be open in both directions during daytime hours. Crews will begin replacing the Radio Hall tunnel, including electrical and steam lines.

On Monday, May 28, Observatory Drive will be closed in both directions until approximately Friday, June 8. It will reopen to westbound traffic after that until the end of September, when both directions will be restored. Eastbound access to lots 10 and 11 will be maintained.

Lake Street between West Dayton and West Johnson streets will be closed in both directions from Monday, May 21, to Monday, June 8. Construction crews will be taking down the pedestrian bridge between Witte Hall and Gordon Commons.

Charter Street will be northbound only between West Dayton and West Johnson streets beginning Monday, May 21, until Sept. 1 for utility work.
