‘300 Best Professors’ list includes four from UW

April 12, 2012 By Käri Knutson

Four teachers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison have been named in a guidebook compiled by The Princeton Review and RateMyProfessors.com entitled “The Best 300 Professors.”

Bryan Hendricks, a senior lecturer in the department of psychology, Jonathan E. Martin, professor and chair of atmospheric and oceanic studies, Aric Rindfleisch, professor in the School of Business and Kevin T. Strang, a faculty associate in the department of neuroscience, all appear on the list.

The Princeton Review, a provider of educational support, college readiness and career planning, gathered data from thousands of students along with www.ratemyprofessors.com, a web site that allows students to grade professors.

“One cannot page through this book without feeling tremendous respect for the powerful ways these teachers are enriching their students’ lives, their colleges, and ultimately our future as a society,” says Robert Franek, senior vice president/publisher at The Princeton Review.

The list, which doesn’t rank professors numerically, includes professors at 122 colleges from more than 60 fields. Fewer than one-quarter of those schools had four or more educators included on the list.

Information explaining the methodology for selecting the instructors can be found here.
