Sunday’s cancellations due to blizzard

1:30 p.m. update: If you have information about campus event cancellations or service changes as a result of the weekend blizzard, email chancellor@news.wisc.edu. The list will be updated as needed throughout the day.

Metro Transit: All Madison Metro Service, including campus routes, cancelled on Sunday. Buses will return to the street with the start of service on Monday, Dec. 13.

Arboretum: The 3 p.m. reading and book signing by poet Sandy Stark at the UW Arboretum is postponed to a later date.

Waisman Children’s Theatre: The Waisman Center Children’s Theatre performance featuring the Trinity Academy of Irish Dancers has been canceled. The show will be rescheduled and tickets will be honored on the new date.

RecSports: The SERF and Nat opened as usual this morning and will maintain normal hours.

Libraries: At this time, Ebling, MERIT, Mills, and Social Work libraries are closed today. Libraries are maintaining a list with hours and details.

Inside Story Symposium: Inside Story Symposium will run a condensed program from 2-5 p.m. in the Harrison Parlor in Lathrop Hall. (No events in the School of Education building.)

Chazen Concert: The 12:30 p.m. Sunday Afternoon Live from the Chazen concert has been cancelled.

Men’s Wrestling: The University of Wisconsin wrestling team’s home match against Michigan, originally scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed. The match will be made up at a later date that is still to be determined.

Women’s Basketball: The 1 p.m. game versus UWM remains on.

Power outage: An overnight power outage affecting Shorewood Hills and Eagle Heights has been resolved by MG & E.

City Snow Emergency Declared: A City of Madison Snow Emergency has been declared.

Urgent Care: UW Health Urgent Care at East and West Towne Locations will be open 1-5 p.m. Sunday due to weather.

Sports Medicine: The UW Health Sports Medicine Fitness Center will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 12.

Lighting ceremony: Friends of UW Hospital and Clinics “Love Lights” ceremony scheduled for Sunday afternoon has been canceled.
