UW-Madison alumna to appear on ‘Survivor: Gabon’

September 24, 2008

Among the 18 competitors on the new “Survivor: Gabon” will be 26-year-old UW–Madison alumna Jacquie Berg, a native of Woodbury, Minn.

In 2005 she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on marketing from the Wisconsin School of Business.

She also earned a certificate in health care management and was involved in the Health Education Club on campus.

Berg was a novice on the Badger women’s crew team in her freshman year. She was a member of the Recreational Sports water polo team for two years and on the triathlon team for one semester. She worked as a lifeguard at the Southeast Recreational Facility (SERF) during all four of her years on campus.

Berg was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and was on the 2004 Homecoming court.

After graduation she took a job with Medtronic, a world leader in the field of medical technology. She currently resides in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Berg says her invaluable experiences at UW–Madison have helped her immensely, both in her career and in competing on “Survivor.”

“My parents always taught me to go after my dreams and it all started with getting accepted at UW–Madison,” says Berg. “I will forever be a Badger!”

The 17th season of the show debuts on CBS at 7 p.m. CST on Thursday, Sept. 25.
