Talib Kweli to headline All-Campus Party concert

The Wisconsin Alumni Student Board‘s (WASB) All-Campus Party (ACP) is proud to announce Talib Kweli as the headline act for this year’s Badger Blowout Concert, presented by UW Credit Union.

The concert will be held on Wednesday, April 23, at the Wisconsin Field House at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the first performances beginning at 7 p.m. Extreme juggler Marcus Monroe and this year’s All-Campus Idol winner will be the opening acts.

Free tickets will be available to students, faculty and staff for pickup at the UW Credit Union (State Street and Monroe Street branches) with a valid UW–Madison ID beginning on Thursday, April 10. Students should plan to pick up tickets together with the group they would like to sit with at the concert. Tickets will be available during normal UW Credit Union business hours and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kweli is one of the best-known, successful rappers in alternative hip-hop. Kweli made his professional debut in 1997 and has released seven albums. His latest solo album, titled "Eardrum," debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and its first single was "Listen!!!"

Kweli has collaborated with various hip-hop artists, most notably Mos Def and Kanye West. Kweli has confirmed that he has three albums planned for 2008. 

The Badger Blowout Concert is affiliated with the John W. Jung Memorial. Through his leadership, Jung conceived and helped coordinate the now annual All-Campus Party with other WASB members. 

The eighth annual All-Campus Party is a cost-free, alcohol-free celebration created by the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board. The festivities begin on Saturday, April 19, and continue through Saturday, April 26.
