School of Human Ecology adviser Phillip Yang immigrated with his family to the United States in 1986 and has continued their agriculture work in addition to his UW–Madison responsibilities. Dane County Farmers’ Market patrons can find Yang’s produce on the Square each week.

Major fall move-in days will affect traffic
An estimated 2,600 students will be moving into residence halls between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 30–31, making those the two busiest days of fall move-in activity on campus.

The Chazen Museum of Art will this fall unveil a 60-piece exhibition of Cubist Alexander Archipenko’s work.
‘Red Carpet’ rolls into third season of welcoming football fans

U.S. News: UW–Madison is nation’s seventh-best public university
UW–Madison is the seventh-best public university in the nation and 34th among all 234 national doctoral universities, according to annual rankings released by U.S. News and World Report.

New Welcome Center to open in September
The university’s new Welcome Center at 21 N. Park St. is expected to be open by mid-September, serving as a gateway to the university and the Greater Madison area and providing both campus and community visitor information.
23rd annual Dog Jog planned for Sept. 17
The School of Veterinary Medicine will again hold its annual Dog Jog Benefit for Homeless Animals at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17.
