Campus listening session set on marriage amendment
A listening session will be held from 5–6:30 p.m. today (Nov. 15) in the Main Lounge of Memorial Union to give campus community members an opportunity voice feelings related to the recently passed marriage amendment and discuss the implications for domestic partner benefits.
Reconnecting with Wisconsin
UW–Madison is launching a major initiative to refocus and reconnect its relationship with the state in the tradition of the Wisconsin Idea. One aspect of the initiative will compile an inventory and communicate the dimensions and benefits of the university’s extensive public-service work, and the partnerships that result from extending the knowledge and expertise of education, research, clinical and outreach activities. As part of the initiative, stories about how faculty, staff and students contribute to the Wisconsin Idea will be featured both in Wisconsin Week and on a new Web site, http://www.wisconsinidea.wisc.edu

Immune system, stem cells pique researcher’s interest
Brenda Ogle pursued advanced degrees in engineering because she hoped to apply engineering principles to the medical field. An established cardiovascular biomechanics researcher whose interests include studying stem cell differentiation for cardiovascular regenerative therapies, Ogle joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering in August.
