2011 Photographers’ Choice

It’s mission impossible, really. Given the breadth and depth of the people and places that make UW-Madison a one-of-a-kind environment, creating a visual record of the past year is a challenge. Yet, two University Communications photographers were up to the task, and they’ve culled through hundreds of options for favorite images from 2011 that capture the campus through four seasons, major building projects and initiatives, transitions in leadership, learning inside and outside the classroom, research in progress, the Wisconsin Idea in practice, and Badger spirit in its many forms.

As for the expression “a picture is worth a thousand words,” a mere three words can describe this collection of pictures: what a year!
