Although they’ve taken many steps during their time as students, walking across a Kohl Center stage the weekend of May 17-19, 2013, may have meant the most.
With family members and friends looking on, some 6,200 UW-Madison students accepted bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral or professional degrees during a series of five commencement ceremonies. Comic actor and writer Anders Holm, himself a Badger, was selected by senior class officers to address the new graduates.
Then, with emotions from joy to trepidation -- and everything in between -- they took their first official steps as UW alumni.
