This summer, nearly 6,000 first-year students, 1,200 transfer students, and about 8,000 parents and guests are gaining a firsthand preview of life at UW–Madison through the popular Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) programming. Sponsored by the Center for the First-Year Experience and based at the brand-new Union South through mid-August, the two-day SOAR sessions provide a chance to meet with staff and advisors, register for classes, stay in a residence hall, take a campus tour and learn about campus resources. Read more about SOAR.
