Marking the end of their academic journeys, some 5,000 students received their degrees during a series of five commencement ceremonies held May 15-17, 2009 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Allan H. “Bud” Selig, major league baseball commissioner and a UW alumnus, delivered the charge to graduates at the Kohl Center.
“As you move on from this beautiful campus and this great educational institution, you will discover that few days in your life are as important and meaningful and as symbolic as this one,” Selig said.
