A $34 million gift from UW–Madison alumni John and Tashia Morgridge has breathed new life into Bascom Hill’s 110-year-old Education Building, which now features inviting open spaces and a spectacular Lake Mendota vista. The building, which School of Education Dean Julie Underwood says has re-energized the school, will be rededicated in a Nov. 15 ceremony at 11 a.m. in the Morgridge Commons.

At left, the building’s iconic red doors provide a colorful backdrop as pedestrians walk to and fro.
