Campus is always alive with the arts, but this year will be especially artful. Special performances and events for Illuminate: UW-Madison Year of the Arts will spotlight the depth, breadth and power of the arts on campus. More than 100 years ago, UW President Charles Adams is purported to have said, “A great university is a singing university.” We couldn’t agree more. On with the show!
The year kicked off on Sept. 16 with Corridor to the Arts, as arts students took it to the streets with joyful, colorful, and infectious performances in the East Campus Mall area.
At left, students from the School of Music in the After Hours Brass Quintet accompanied pedestrians on the corner of University Avenue and Park Street.
