Slide show: Remembering Shanica

On Jan. 25, nearly 500 students, faculty, staff and family members gather in Tripp Commons at the Memorial Union for a tribute to Shanica Adkins, the late UW-Madison senior who was killed in a Dec. 31 auto accident. Remembered as a kind and passionate young woman, Adkins was majoring in social work and was both a scholar of and a tutor for UW-Madison's Pre-College Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence (PEOPLE). Pictured at the entrance to the tribute is a publication honoring Adkins' life and a basket containing cards to her family.
