Between cream puffs and Ferris wheel rides, visitors to UW-Madison Day at the Wisconsin State Fair got a taste of the Wisconsin Idea and had a lot of fun. UW celebrated its long-standing tradition of service and outreach with more than 20 “Exploration Stations” on the central mall of the fairgrounds, including hands-on science demonstrations. Fairgoers also met Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne, posed for pictures with Bucky Badger and showed their Wisconsin pride during a pep rally featuring members of the UW Marching Band and Spirit Squad. Many visitors also donated to a UW-sponsored school supply drive to benefit Milwaukee-area children.
