ADVISORY: MEDIA TOUR AT WISCONSIN ENERGY INSTITUTE

The Wisconsin Energy Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is offering an exclusive look inside its new building in advance of its public grand opening. The Institute brings together energy experts from throughout campus to address crosscutting issues at the heart of the energy challenge.

On Wednesday, March 27, the Wisconsin Energy Institute is hosting a media tour of the new facility from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. After the tour, the following Wisconsin Energy Institute researchers will be available for one-on-one interviews with media.

-Michael Corradini, Wisconsin Energy Institute director and Wisconsin Distinguished Professor of engineering physics, UW-Madison: nuclear power and nuclear safety, energy policy and energy systems, and sustainability and environmental impacts.

-Timothy Donohue, Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) director and professor of bacteriology, UW-Madison: biofuels and bio-based renewable energy technologies

-Paul P.H. Wilson, associate professor of engineering physics, UW-Madison: sustainable nuclear energy, energy policy and radiation transport in nuclear systems.

-Chris Kucharik, associate professor of agronomy and environmental studies, affiliated with the Nelson Institute Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE), UW-Madison: ecological modeling, field measurements, carbon sequestration, agroecosystems, crop production, land management and climate change.

-Thomas M. Jahns, Grainger Professor of power electronics and electrical machines, UW-Madison: microgrids and power electronics.

Media should arrive promptly at 11 a.m. at the loading dock entrance (west side) of the Wisconsin Energy Institute, located at 1552 University Avenue. Metered parking is available in nearby lot 41.
