UW-MADISON EVENTS FORECAST: NOV. 22-28

MADISON - In this shortened holiday week, why not bring family and friends to experience the Arboretum or view a travel film? These are some of the many University of Wisconsin-Madison events taking place during the week of Nov. 22-28.

ARBORETUM EARTH PARTNERSHIP FOR FAMILIES: GOBBLE, GOBBLE... WILD TURKEYS!

WHEN AND WHERE: Sunday, Nov. 22, 1-3 p.m., Arboretum Visitor Center, 1207 Seminole Highway

DETAILS: Search for wild turkeys like wildlife scientists by exploring the tracks, signs and behavior of these native birds. Find out why the Arboretum is such a fine habitat for wild turkeys. Dress for the weather; outdoor and indoor activities are planned.

BUSINESS SCHOOL BLOOD DRIVE: HELP SAVE LIVES

WHEN AND WHERE: Monday, Nov. 23, noon-6 p.m., 5120 Grainger Hall, 975 University Ave.

DETAILS: One blood donation helps up to three people. Walk-ins are welcome, or make appointments at 1-800-GIVELIFE or http://www.givebloodgivelife.org. A donor card or photo ID is required. Must be over 17 and 110 pounds.

BUDDY HATTON: IRAN

WHEN AND WHERE: Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 23-24, 7:30 p.m., Wisconsin Union Theater, Memorial Union, 800 Langdon St.

DETAILS: Iran is as old as history itself, with spectacular and distinctive architectural marvels. Its people are hospitable, amiable and generous. Mingle with them as Buddy Hatton dispels many of the stereotypes portrayed by mainstream media.

ARBORETUM NIGHT WALK: STARS AND NIGHT SOUNDS

WHEN AND WHERE: Saturday, Nov. 28, 6:30-8 p.m., Arboretum Visitor Center, 1207 Seminole Highway

DETAILS: The waxing moon will be about 78 percent full, lighting the way for this night walk. Listen for night animal activity and look for stars if the sky is clear.
