UW-MADISON ARTS AND EVENTS FORECAST, MAY 17-30
MADISON - The University of Wisconsin-Madison campus is quiet in these first weeks of the summer recess, but lectures, exhibits and music still warm up the cool evenings. These events and more take place from May 17-30.
This combined arts and events forecast will be presented biweekly through the summer. The events listed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. For a complete listing of events, visit http://www.today.wisc.edu.

MEMORIAL UNION MUSIC
WHEN AND WHERE: Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, Terrace, Memorial Union, 800 Langdon St.
DETAILS: Enjoy live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights throughout the summer. Bluegrass and jazz fill the air after work on Thursdays and Fridays, with an assortment of local and national acts later in the evening. Performances move indoors in bad weather.

SECOND ANNUAL DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE RESEARCH DAY
WHEN AND WHERE: Thursday, May 21, 8 a.m., Atrium, Health Sciences Learning Center, 750 Highland Ave.
DETAILS: Posters will be available for viewing all day, with special hours posted for author participation. Also on the program are 10 speakers representing both clinical and basic science research from the various sections within the School of Medicine and Public Health. The keynote speaker is Pamela B. Davis, dean of the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, who presents on "Adventures in Cystic Fibrosis: Changing the Face of a Disease in a Generation."
