Caption: A new technique of manufacturing microelectronics coaxes long chains of molecules called block copolymers to form themselves into certain patterns - in this case, parallel lines. An international team of researchers, including Paul Nealey, associate professor of chemical and biological engineering and mechanical engineering; Juan de Pablo, professor of chemical and biological engineering, and research assistant Mark Stoykovich coauthored a paper on the research, 'Epitaxial self-assembly of block copolymers on lithographically defined nanopatterned substrates', published in the journal Nature on July 24, 2003.
