Chancellor responds to marriage amendment, plans listening session
Chancellor John Wiley has reaffirmed UW-Madison's commitment to being a place that rejects discrimination and respects diversity of all kinds. Wiley has assigned staff to review the marriage amendment and its possible impacts, and he has organized a campus listening session to give campus community members an opportunity to voice feelings related to the referendum. The session is 5-6:30 p.m. today, Nov. 15, in the Main Lounge of Memorial Union.
Student loan repayment rates reach record high
UW-Madison students have one of the highest loan repayment rates in the nation, according to an analysis by the Office of Student Financial Service.

Exhibit displays photos from study-abroad students
Two-dozen photographs from around the world are on exhibit from now until January in College Library's third floor. Part of an exhibit titled "Around the World: UW-Madison Celebrates 2006 Year of Study Abroad," the photographs by students while abroad offer glimpses of worlds far away and underscore the special opportunities a study-abroad educational experience can bring.
Celebrate Ask Bucky's anniversary and win free textbooks
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Ask Bucky E-mail Service, created by Visitor and Information Programs (VIP) to answer questions about the who, what, when, where, why and how of life at UW-Madison from prospective students, current students, faculty, staff and visitors. To celebrate, all day Tuesday, Nov. 28, students may stop by the Bascom Hall Information Desk to enter Ask Bucky's Anniversary Raffle for a chance to win a semester's worth of textbooks from the University Book Store or tickets to a variety of men's and women's athletic events. Also on Nov. 28, anniversary cake will be served in Bascom Hall beginning at 11 a.m.

UHS Health Tip: Flu shots in residence halls
UHS continues its series of flu shot clinics in the residence halls. The next clinic is today, Nov. 15, 4-6 p.m., Sellery Main Lounge. These clinics are primarily for students who live in the residence halls. All other students are encouraged to come to UHS for the daily walk-in flu clinic Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. As always, flu shots at UHS are free for students. Cinefest brings global hip-hop to Madison
Now in its sixth year, the Cinefest Multicultural Film Festival brings to Madison "Civil Rights, Spoken Word and Hip-Hop: From Old School to New School," four days of politically charged documentaries about hip-hop culture around the globe. Have a hand in stopping genocide
What can one person do? Mark Hanis, founder of the Genocide Intervention Network, will make some suggestions, giving an overview of the genocide in Darfur, Sudan, which has claimed 450,000 lives and displaced more than 2.5 million people. He also will offer specific ways that each audience member can help stop the genocide. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 1 p.m., Pyle Center.
