Student entrepreneurs working to green the economy

While some students use college as a transition into the "real world," an increasing number of student entrepreneurs have asked themselves, "Why wait?" Last February, senior Ted Durkee teamed up with recent alumnus Brandon Gador to found Powered Green, a startup company promoting the use of renewable energy. They officially launched the company at the end of September.

December graduates can prepare to "move on" by attending Countdown to Commencement from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11., in Memorial Union's Tripp Commons. Get answers about the Dec. 21 ceremony, check graduation eligibility, reserve caps and gowns, and order class rings and graduation announcements. Staff will also be on hand to explain the benefits of joining the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
