Dave Eggers and Velentino Achak Deng discuss their new book

Eggers was a finalist for the 2006 National Book Critics Circle Award for “What Is the What,” his novelized version of the life of Valentino Achak Deng, a survivor of the civil war in southern Sudan. Now a leader in the Sudanese diaspora, Deng runs a foundation dedicated to building secondary schools in southern Sudan and advocates for the universal right to education and the freedom of the people of Sudan. 7:30 p.m. today (Nov. 4), L160 Chazen Museum.
