The city of Madison is preparing for a safe and enjoyable Mifflin Street Block Party this Saturday. However, the combination of large crowds, balconies and alcohol make it important for revelers to keep safety in mind.
Campus Greek community celebrates 150 years
In 1857 the first fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, was founded at UW-Madison. Today the campus is home to 27 fraternities and 19 sororities.
New student ticket policy announced
In an attempt to provide excellent customer service to a wide array of student fans, ticket policies and procedures are under constant review and discussion. After conducting surveys and focus groups, the Athletics Department has made results of their studies available and announced new policies for ticket distribution for men's basketball and men's hockey.

The Student Personnel Association (SPA) honored the efforts of nine individuals with its Outstanding Achievement Awards. Founded in 1956, the SPA exists to create cross-campus connections among people who work with students to support, enhance and reinforce the learning mission of UW-Madison.

Union hosts WUDstock all day Friday

Communication disorders, Sertoma club recycle hearing aids
The Sertoma Club and the Department of Communication Disorders will conduct a hearing aid recycling campaign during May, which is Better Hearing and Speech Month. Collection points for the Sertoma Hearing Aid Recycling Program include audiology clinics, stores, funeral homes, nursing homes and religious institutions. The hearing-aid parts will be reconditioned and provided at reduced cost to people with limited means of obtaining a hearing aid.
