• Katen-Bahensky named president and CEO of UW Hospital and Clinics Dec. 5, 2007 Donna Katen-Bahensky, CEO at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and senior associate vice president for medical affairs at University of Iowa Health Care since 2002, has been named president and CEO of University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. She will join the hospital effective Feb. 4, 2008.
• UW-Madison political scientist chosen to observe Australian elections Nov. 14, 2007 Kenneth Mayer, a University of Wisconsin-Madison political scientist, will travel to Australia as part of an international delegation observing that nation's federal elections on Saturday, Nov. 24.
• Vice provost for diversity and climate finalists announced Nov. 7, 2007 The University of Wisconsin-Madison has narrowed its search for a vice provost for diversity and climate to three finalists.

• AAAS honors five UW-Madison members Oct. 26, 2007 Five University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty and staff members are among the 471 scientists, engineers, educators and communicators who have been selected as fellows by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The awards are announced in the Oct. 26 issue of Science.
• Homecoming to launch School of Medicine and Public Health centennial Oct. 17, 2007 The formal campus celebration of the School of Medicine and Public Health’s centennial will begin during the Homecoming football game between Wisconsin and Indiana. A special on-field ceremony will introduce the centennial to those in the stadium.
• Search on for new ombuds Oct. 17, 2007 Ombuds Peg Davey, who has been with the program since 2004, will step down March 1.
• Two to receive CALS distinguished service awards Oct. 17, 2007 Biochemist Hector DeLuca and former dean Leo Walsh will receive Distinguished Service Awards from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at an awards banquet on Thursday, Oct. 25.
• UW-Madison faculty contributed to global warming reports that led to Gore’s Nobel Oct. 12, 2007 University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty made significant contributions in developing the reports on the implications of global warming that led today (Oct. 12) to the awarding of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize to Vice President Al Gore and the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
