  • Middle-school parents: Start talking before they start drinking Feb. 28, 2007 On March 7, "Start Talking Before They Start Drinking," a town hall meeting on middle school drinking, will examine Madison's youngest drinkers and what we all can do about this problem. The meeting, hosted by Tom Farley of the Chris Farley Foundation, will examine what we know about early drinking in Dane County, the medical consequences of early alcohol use, and how the entire community can reduce middle school alcohol use.

  • UW real estate center to be named for real estate legend James A. Graaskamp Feb. 6, 2007 Almost 600 alumni and friends have generated nearly $11 million in donations for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Real Estate, which will be renamed in honor of the late James A. Graaskamp, a legendary figure in real estate education.
  • TIP/School of Music’s guest artist visits high school band Feb. 2, 2007 The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music presents guest artists throughout the year, usually in short residencies that feature a recital and one or two master classes. In the case of current guest artist James Jenkins, who plays the tuba, the model has been expanded to include an outreach activity at one of Madison's public high schools.
