World's largest neutrino observatory completed at South Pole

Culminating a decade of planning, innovation and testing, construction of the world's largest neutrino observatory was successfully completed today.
- Search and screen panel named for WID director Nov. 5, 2010 A search and screen committee has been named to find the first permanent director for the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery. Martin Cadwallader, vice chancellor for research and dean of the Graduate School, says the committee is accepting nominations and hopes to have a candidate selected by late spring.

For the first time, annual research expenditures at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have surpassed the $1 billion milestone.

The Expanding Your Horizons program, a daylong conference designed to expose young women to careers in science, technology, engineering and math, has touched thousands of Wisconsin women during its 50-year history at UW-Madison.
