Parent Program to host Aug. 11 web chat

The UW–Madison Parent Program will host a live Web chat designed for parents of first-year students from noon–1 p.m. (CDT) on Thursday, Aug. 11.

Staff members from the Parent Program, Center for the First-Year Experience, Division of Student Life, University Health Services, University Housing, Office of Student Financial Aid and the Cross-College Advising Service will be on hand to answer parent questions about move-in and the initial transition of first-year students to campus life.

In addition, panelists can field questions about important things to bring to campus, Wisconsin Welcome, relationships with roommates and friends, homesickness, health, academics, advising and financial aid.

Parents, along with the general public, can participate by logging on to the chat on this page at noon on Aug. 11. You can also receive an email reminder for the event.

You are encouraged to submit your own questions or simply observe the chat. If you can’t participate, check back to this site immediately following the event for a complete transcript.
