Web chat: Financial aid
Tuesday, March 2, 2010, 6-7 p.m., CST
Questions about financial aid for next year? We have answers!
Quite simply, financial aid for college can be a complex topic for students and their families to navigate.
To make things easier, the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) and the UW-Madison Parent Program are teaming up to host a live informational Web chat to answer a wide range of general questions from students and parents.
The event will be held from 6-7 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday, March 2.
Topics may include information about filling out the FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid), work-study opportunities, common sense financial tips for students on campus, eligibility requirements for aid and the Madison Initiative for Undergraduates.
We encourage participants to submit questions or to simply sit back and observe the chat. For those who can’t participate in the live chat, we’ll post a complete transcript the following day.
Keep in mind that the goal of the panel is to provide general information and resources. We advise students and families with very specific questions about their own aid situations to contact OSFA for individualized assistance.
Panelists for the chat include:
- Mary Condon, Kate Dike, Karla Weber, Anna Kerns and Michelle Curtis of the Office of Student Financial Aid.
- Nancy Sandhu of the UW-Madison Parent Program.
If you have questions in advance of the chat, e-mail John Lucas in University Communications.
