The 22nd annual Crazylegs Classic is set for Saturday, April 26.
The event is a fund-raiser, named in honor of the legendary Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch, who won All-American honors as a collegian and NFL Hall of Fame designation before becoming athletic director at UW-Madison.
The event has raised more than $1.7 million to support UW athletics, underwriting scholarships for men and women student-athletes in all sports.
The 8K run or two-mile walk event begins on the Capitol Square and ends about an hour later at Camp Randall Stadium. It starts at 9:45 a.m. for wheelchair entrants and 10 a.m. for runners.
Street closures will include: North Lake Street from State Street to Langdon Street; lower Langdon Street; North Park Street to Observatory Drive; Observatory Drive to Elm Drive; Elm Drive to the Temin Lakeshore Path; University Bay Drive from Picnic Point to Lot 60; Walnut Street from Lot 60 to Old University Avenue; Old University from Walnut Street to Breese Terrace; and Breese Terrace to Camp Randall Stadium. The course also runs through Lot 60.
