Langdon Street closing between Park and Lake streets

May 21, 2015 By Käri Knutson

Langdon Street between Park and Lake streets will be closed through November 2015 starting next week as phase two of the Memorial Union construction project continues.

The closure is tentatively set to begin on Tuesday. Work being done includes replacing the utility tunnel between the Red Gym and Library Mall as well as raising the middle of Langdon Street. An underground loading dock will also be installed and covered by the new Alumni Plaza. Starting in early September, renovation and restoration will begin on the east half of the Union building and the Terrace.

Charter Street at Linden will be closed for approximately one week, from Saturday, May 30, through Sunday, June 7.

During the Langdon Street closure, buses will be rerouted around the area and will primarily follow Park Street north, then head left onto Observatory Drive.

Permit holders in Lots 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will have access to their lots from the west via Observatory Drive.
