Tennessen is currently the assistant director for administration at the Wisconsin Union. She brings to her new role more than 20 years of progressive leadership and management experience in higher education with considerable specialized expertise in budget development and reporting, financial services, human resources and marketing.

She has a master’s degree in business arts administration as well as a bachelor’s degree in communication arts and French, both from UW–Madison.

“I am excited for this opportunity,” Tennessen says. “Throughout the interview process, I was very impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of the FP&M staff. This is a thrilling challenge for me — and a little humbling — to join this team, and I look forward to working together to enhance the campus experience and serve the mission of the university.”

Tennessen succeeds Dorothy Steele who retired in October 2013.
