A message from Interim UW System President Richard Telfer

Dear UW System Colleagues,

A happy New Year to you all. I officially stepped in as interim president of the UW System last week. It may be frightfully cold outside, but keeping up with our lengthy “to-do” list is helping us stay warm. 

This week, the Board of Regents has interviews lined up for the presidential finalists. I hope that many of you can participate in the listening sessions to be held today. Monday, Jan. 6. It is anticipated that the next president will be announced later this week.

It’s an exciting time. No matter how long or short my time in this interim position will be, I am honored to serve in this capacity, and will work hard to keep things functioning smoothly until the next president takes the helm.

My best wishes for a great start to the new year, as well as the new semester. Stay warm!
