This year’s Wisconsin Film Festival was an unparalleled collaboration between the University of Wisconsin–Madison Arts Institute and UW Department of Communication Arts faculty, staff and students.  In addition to partnerships with other campus departments, the festival also established many new partnerships with local businesses and civic organizations.

In keeping with this year’s celebration of the Year of the Wisconsin Idea, the Wisconsin Film Festival has continued in providing a bridge from the campus to the Madison community.

The festival offered 101 unique programs on nine screens at eight venues, which included, for the first time, the Marquee Theater at Union South, the new auditorium at the Chazen Museum of Art and Sundance Cinemas Madison.

Organizers extended their thanks to the many volunteers, staff and planners whose work makes the event possible each year. Along with expanding venues, this year marked a deepening commitment to Madison-based sponsors and the local business community. More than 50 visiting filmmakers and other guests visited the area to participate in the festival.
