Search begins for facilities planning and management post

UW-Madison is seeking applications and nominations for the position of associate vice chancellor for facilities planning and management.

A 17-member search and screen committee of faculty, staff, students and community members will recommend finalists for the position to Vice Chancellor for Administration Darrell Bazzell. Candidates should apply by Monday, April 30.

The new associate vice chancellor will succeed Alan Fish, who is now vice president of real estate and campus services at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Craig Benson, professor of geological engineering and civil and environmental engineering and co-director of UW–Madison’s Office of Sustainability, is chair of the search and screen committee. Also serving on the committee are Paul Evans, director of housing; David Noyce, professor of civil and environmental engineering; David Miller, UW System associate vice president for capital planning and budget; Mark Bugher, director of University Research Park and special assistant to the chancellor; Godwin Amegashie, Department of Administration; Brad Murphy, city of Madison Department of Planning and Development; Shiva Bidar-Sielaff, city of Madison alder; Laura Peterson, Division of Facilities Planning and Management; Doug Rose, Division of Facilities Planning and Management; Sue Riseling, UW–Madison police chief; Julie Underwood, dean of the School of Education; Steve Grever, Division of Facilities Planning and Management; Randy Hentschel, University Health Services; Sam Seering, a student representing Associated Students of Madison; Sean Frazier, deputy athletics director; and Karen Christianson, Regent Neighborhood Association.

The associate vice chancellor for facilities planning and management provides leadership and strategic vision over the full spectrum of UW–Madison’s facilities management activities, including development of a new campus master plan, capital budgeting, facilities project design and construction, environmental and safety compliance, transportation services and other activities.
